He was rescued by our friends at Perros Olvidados de Bacalar after he was hit by a car. His exposed bone was hitting the ground as he hobbled along trying to walk. Their vet amputated a portion of the limb, but it never healed properly and infection set in. During consultation with an orthopedic surgeon, it was determined that the leg needed to be taken off at the shoulder. He also discovered that Mambo had a luxating kneecap that needed surgery. Because we have the most loyal supporters on earth, we helped the rescue pay for Mombo’s surgery (about $250 us for our part). We look forward to seeing this little man making a full recovery and going on to find a family who will adore him. Good luck little man
